Dumpy Launched Pre-owned Furniture Aggregator Business Across Dhaka

Dumpy has launched its pre-owned furniture aggregator business in Bangladesh’s capital, Dhaka. Sellers can reach out to Dumpy, and Dumpy will connect them with a buyer to make the process of disposing and upcycling more accessible, convenient, hassle-free, and frictionless for sellers.

Dumpy allows sellers to provide detailed descriptions, photos, and an expected price upon selling their furniture. When people try to sell their old furniture, they often experience difficulty in finding potential buyers who will offer them the best price possible. A lot of people fell prey to online fraud and harassment. Now, sellers can simply outsource this hassle to Dumpy to find the best buyer for their furniture. After the seller successfully sells their furniture, Dumpy takes a minimal commission from the seller for facilitating the process.

“Our goal is to create a seamless experience for both buyers and sellers,” said Dumpy’s co-founder and CEO, Shah Adaan Uzzaman. “We believe that by providing a reliable and frictionless platform, we can encourage more people to consider pre-owned furniture, which is both economically and environmentally beneficial.”

A R Tahseen Jahan, co-founder and Chief Business Officer of Dumpy, emphasized our commitment to community: “We are not just creating an aggregator platform; we are building a community. The low and middle income segments of Dhaka can now have more affordable options to decorate their homes with second hand furniture.”

Sellers can earn extra income by selling furniture they no longer need, while buyers can find high-quality pieces at a fraction of the cost of new furniture. This economic advantage is coupled with environmental benefits, as reusing furniture reduces the demand for new products, thus extracting and conserving resources and minimizing carbon footprints.
